Looking for a HUD/VA number?
Need to move w/in the next 45 days, looking at all possibilities. I used to have a number (800? maybe) that you could call & you'd receive a fax every Thursday in the month of all the foreclosures within your area. There was no fee at all. You just called & did it over the phone. Then POOF! THat Thursday you'd get like 4-8 pages of addresses & asking $.
Does anyone know what I'm talking about or have the number. I need another home-NOW! |

Hey guys, thanks.

You might want to get a good real estate agent that deals in foreclosures...I believe that homeowners that are going to live in the home get the first stab at HUD homes...then the investors get to fight over it...and many times people over pay for these dumps...or place a add in the paper looking for pre-foreclosures , people that are facing foreclosure in the near future , and are trying to avoide it..or call some banks and see if they have anything "laying" around that you could submit a offer on..But the best way is to look at your usual market...turn key homes..:) ...Good luck Outlaw

supercrash-
Thanks for the tips. I just figured we could buy a house quickly it being a HUD or something like that. More bang for the buck. I could be wrong, just panicking right now. I tried looking for properties with tax liens on them. I've found several opportunities in the Lake Travis area (AUstin) but can't find anything similar in Harris COunty. |
Okay found the number-I knew there's always a reason to keep an old address book!!! :D

Bayb,
here are the TX homes hud has for sale. texas homes from hud I am a realtor and it is my expeirence that HUD homes are peices of sh*t. They are run down and scumbags trashed them.....be careful. Also, if you are buying as an investor you will get crap to pick from.......owner occupiers get first pick....good luck. If needed I can refer you to a realtor in your market that will be one of the top producers in the Houston area |
Thanks Tanned Fat!
I know there can be some probs with HUD homes like lead paint & settling, but I've only seen one & it appeared in fairly decent condition and was a newer home. Wasn't quite too sure why it was considered a HUD. I guess I'd better read up on HUD homes. We'd be looking to buy & reside in the home. I don't want a piece of Chit that I have to keep complaining about!! What about tax lien properties? What about foreclosures-Are they the way to get more bang for the buck? |
