I will have to see proof of this pleasure 29 warlock running 100mph with a 525, because that is faster than the SVL boats, which are basically potatoe chips with seats in them.

I have a big single, and torque steer is almost nonexistent unless you are trimmed waay up. I can run 80+ all day cruising without even holding on to the wheel. yes, drive longevity can suffer, but I got 82 hours on my upper gears before a rebuild and just turned 120hours on the lower gears without a rebuild, and that is with 60 hours of 800hp and the rest at 750hp N/A.

Also, if you have never ridden in a sit down boat, I highly suggest you try it. After three seasons sitting in my boat, standing feels terrible while riding in friends boats.

I will take my light single any day of the week.

They do come close. The Y2k is two feet longer.

I got rid of my sit down boat. The cabin was too small and it hurt my back in rough water. I went to a stand up boat and now have a useable cabin and my legs/knees take the hit instead of my back.

The 28 Apache is a nice boat, a classic, and would be a sweet boat to restore, but at its current configuration it is, in my opinion, overpriced. It is in need of a fresh paint job and full interior... Which if I bought it, it would recieve via Mitcher T and XT-Innovations.

Ahhhh, I see. Your one of those cosmopolitan boaters. Thats cool, whatever floats your boat man.

Don't pretend to know the condition of the boat if you've never seen it in person.

Sounds subjective... and it seems the 29Rockit would be suited more towards the way you like to boat... If you were to spend 180-200k on a new boat.

How do we KNOW this boat does 90mph with a 525???

Going off memory one of the boating mags tested a Y2K with a 525 and it did 78mph. That was before the bottom change in 2006 that is suppose to add more speed.

OK...so why are you trying so hard to sell the Apache and/or trade it for a smaller presumably sit-down boat with a smaller or no cabin???

Ha, Ha , GOTCHA..... Just wanking your chain, you know how I feel about your Apache. :-)

Cheers,

Dave

I've seen 80 in my boat, and it doesn't have the new bottom.

RLJ

My boat in 2000 was 29ft single step. with bone stock 500 efi boat ran 88 mph. They have made huge advancements in prop technology. I can only imagine how it would run with a 525 and new prop. As light as this boat is i bet the figures are close. Remeber this thing is very light. All there new boats are light and hence one of the reasons they see the speeds they do.

You guys cant compare this new OL to anything yet. Once someone gets it out there and runs it we can then compare.

My Warlock was awesome. Never a problem with the build quality. The boat won more races and a world champion ship with out a stress crack. It was awesome in the rough. Lets just not compare them yet. Outerlimits builds a awesome boat. Period. But everyone has problem boats at some point.

Yeah, I think they hit it out of the park with the 29. I love the idea of a reliable and efficient single (the new Ilmore SB or even the 725 with an Indy would be the hot ticket IMO) in this sexy package. I'll bet it's a nut to rip around in too!

BTW, to the new Cig owner making the comments about the poor quality and fit and finish, did you happen to get any pics to support your comments??? Looking at the close-ups in Pete's thread, I didn't notice any such issues. All of their newer stuff I've seen lately looks pretty darn good to me, although maybe my simple standards aren't as high as yours...

He's all ticked off his new cigarette still looks the same as an 88....I hate to say it, I was not impressed with the AMG Boats...5 Outboards, "because we could" attitude....well then...

I have a few comments on the fit and finish, but honestly...it's a better looking boat than the cigarettes, just like most OLs have been...faster too...

The steps on the 44/43 wouldn't work on the 29, there isn't enough damn surface area to do something like that. Always amazed at some of the stupid comments....

The new OLs are light, very light.....

I will say this, on rigging, Cigarette has always impressed me, nothing breaks, rarely...OL does nice rigging, but in that category I will give cigarette that slight notich up...that being said I'd never trade OL the boat does what it should...and runs great...just giving Cig kudos on their rigging.
