Default 25ft vs 28ft Nordic 496.

i am shopping for my first power boat and i know the 25 will be fine but i want a 28.

my question is what is, if any, the real difference between a 25 and 28 foot boat from the same manufacturer and same power?

I owned a Heat and two of my freind's own Rage's. The Heat will perform better in rougher water. The Rage will obviously run more MPH with equal power. My Heat would run 62.8 loaded with a 496 at high elevation. I would say get the Heat it has more room and there a lot of them on the market right now to choose from. It is a great boat.

The 28 will give you everything better than the 25 with exception of speed. Everyone eventually goes bigger.... go with the 28! You can always add HP later. It's an awesome looking boat, can't mistake it out there on the water!

Good luck!

I upgraded from my 2000 252 Baja and looked at the Rage, i really like the looks and there were faster than any other 25's i was looking at but the seating area and the open bow area on the open bow's was really small, much smaller than my Baja over i would say go for the 28 you will be happier.

the rage is an awesome boat, we love ours, but our next boat will be the heat, the heat will be alittle slower, but will handle the rough much better, it has higher freeboard and drop down bolsters also, its looks much bigger than the rage in every way considering its only 3' bigger
