Curious about EFI

I know that the aftermarket automotive manufacturers offer simple EFI systems that simply bolt on and plug-and-play. Just read an article in which one of these systems was installed on a small block in a few hours and according to what I read, the system "self tunes" (not sure what that means).

Is anyone offering similar products for boats?

The buyer / installer sets sets up or uses one of the base programs installed in the ecu, then drive around while it tunes to your application.

I've used the FAST EZ EFI on two cars and a boat. Any of the systems you see that are "self-learing" are for fuel only. You will still use your existing ignition separately such as your HEI dist., Thunderbolt Electronic ignition etc.... it only replaces the carburetor. It worked well on the engines I installed it on. IF you want a fully computerized set-up then you can use a Fast XFI, Holley , GM based ECU etc.... I have installed all of these systems. Lot of people say that EFI isn't worth the money to convert to etc..... In my opinion it is defiantely worth it. They key to using an EFI system in a marine application is being able to use an oxygen sensor. If you have any other questions, let me know.

MSD just released a new EFI system. It essentially is a Holley looking carburetor with injectors in the bowl area.
