Toluene 114 or Xylene 117 @ 10% should yield a change of 2 in the Octane.

10% yields that change. Gas at the pump is always 2 PTs higher than claimed. That why I told gd 10 to 1 for 93.

How does that work exactly? I've never had any experience with octane boosters. How much fuel does 1oz treat, or is there a different way to measure the percentage?

i just do not understand, we have our own oil that we ship to other places for a fraction of what we ship it in for, and as for "futures" i do not believe in that b.s. with out technonogy we build more fuel effieicient cars every day, we should be using less fuel its only us guys with trucks to tow our boats with. on top of that we have gone over to a few of these places to help gain control of their government and spent billions, we should be taking their oil in re-payment of what our counrty has spent to save your ass, as a matter of fact we have saved so many we should just take them over, we will sell them their oil!

PNR,
Just to clarify what you are saying here, that 89 octane at the pump is actually 91 octane? I'm confused!
thanks,
Dean

Yep testing has shown that even the small mom and pops has is 2pts higher than labeled. What's shown on the pump is the min. number not actual. Its done as a fudge factor against standards. The label says it must test at min of 89 make it 91 it will always pass when the state does their random tests. Either that or protection against product liability.
But it is a known that it's 2pts higher. Its been tested many times and can be seen in state to state testing.
I wouldnt start not using 93 bEc I know this. My motor was dynoed with 93 so that wld be 95. Yes I could run 91 but why? If I was only able to get it sure but I would keep it easy until I could get 93 or mix in a lot of toulene.
