Wow, that Ilmor V8 is pretty cool. Is that thing CE certified?
That's friggin' awsome. Merc puts out a 565, Ilmor steps in not one day later with a 570, in small block size. Gotta love Ilmor. Take that Big Bad Merc.

Next question is, when is the Indy light duty due? Bye-bye XR:)

Thanks Matt, for getting an early post out to us, like many I really wanted to see what all the hype was about the NEW 29 OL and by looking at the picture, I wasn't disappointed. Great looking boat and I'm sure that there will be a lot more on this beauty.

It is a Teague Platinum. This BIG smalley is very different than the Mastercraft version

Yes ... and no. The MasterCraft engine is catalyzed. The engine reported on in this story is not. Check out this earlier story, http://speedonthewater.com/new-boats...-mid-2012.html.

How much less does it weight compared to a BBC?

C_Spray 02-17-2012 12:04 AM

The ILMOR 570 is an entirely different animal from the 522 hp Mastercraft skiboat engine. Entirely custom-built with variable cam timing, it makes the Merc 565 look like the dinosaur that it is. By the way, ILMOR's unveiling took place 15 minutes after Mercury's. Fred Kiekhafer looked VERY, VERY unhappy...
