What the heck kind of mechanical failure would bring a boat of that size down? Since the titanic everything is compartmentalized! ohhhhhhh... I see now, it's a french flag ship.... too much bubbly on the starboard side!!! A bit tipsy!!!

Private yachts do not have air/water tight compartments for the most part. All the of ones I have been on have water tight exterior doors, and water tight doors to the engine room and lazarette or garage. That is all. Once water gets into the interior of the yacht, you are screwed.
