Hatch Mirror
Where can I order flexible mirror material for my hatch that isn't too thin? Everything I find on-line looks thin and comes rolled up. I'd like something at least 1/4 inch thick that can follow a slight curve but not look all ripply. Thanks.

Look in your local directory for a store that sells Plexiglass and Acrylic. They will have Plexiglass mirror. That is what I used, Looks like real glass mirror. It is flexable and can be formed to the contour of you hatch. It's not cheap but it's the only way to do it right.

After some thought and input I am now thinking about using polished SS instead of plastic. Any thoughts? What have you guys used?

I'm all for polished SS. It's going to come with a backing material on it used for laser cutting. It also protects the surface. Be careful when ordering, "polished" in the stainless world is what most people refer to as brushed (think counters, kitchen ware, etc), you're going to want mirror finish. I would suggest having a local metal shop laser cut it, that way you can have all of your mounting holes, through holes, and radius corners done easily, cleanly, and with no discoloring. You'd be fine with 18/20 gauge.

I have used mirrored acrylic in my jet boat and will be using some this spring on my scarab. It is pricey but I think mirrored stainless will actually cost you more!
