New video from X Power Drive Low Boost
So you don't hear this very often, but instead of throwing more and more hp at it we are testing effeciency, and how little it takes to make it go fast. We are testing a new X Dimension vs prop blade diameter/rake and it seems to be working. This motor made 1285 hp on 8.8 lbs of boost and now we have turned it down to 4.4. I don't have the dyno numbers but my guess would be something between 30 to 40 hp per lb of boost. That represents between 264 to 352 hp loss. We were still able to get 166.7 mph on a little run at Lake Elsinore and it was still slowly climbing. Thats not bad if you do the math. Check out the video and lets's get ready for summer!!

That boat moves out in a hurry :eekdrop:

Nice. What way are you going with depth, diameter, and rake?
|
Wow
|
That is damn impressive. Slap on a set of bravos/Imcos and see what it does for a true back to back (if you can get them to stay together that is).:eekdrop:

I would love to put on a set of bravos to see what it would do back to back. We have always done it the other way, removing the bravo and replacing it with the X Power, and we have always seen gains. Does anybody want to loan me a set of bravos to do the test, they might need slight repairs when were done with the test LOL.

I will loan you my Bravos if you will loan me the X Drives.. sure no problem!!

Your 32 has to be the most impressive Spectre ever built, not just because of the speed, but also because of the attention to detail... fantastic job Bill!

Thanks that's really nice of you to say. It's a labor of love, and I live to be on the water listening to those blowers behind me there is nothing like it.

Def one of my favorites. Have seen the boat in havasu a couple times and it is beautiful! :eekdrop:
|
Even better I will loan you a pair of IMCO xtreme SC drives if you loan a set of x power!
Yes your boat and drives are over the top awesome! Keep the videos coming! |
these are some videos of my daytime job. I drive the Bobby Rahal/David Letterman BMW M-3 in the American Lemans Series. These are some in car laps around some great tracks.

Bill what speeds do you run at Road America?
|
Not terribly fast because the rules mandate that we run the motor with two 29mm restrictors which only allow the motor to make about 530hp, so our top speed is around 173is depending on what aero platform we are running. Trim it out and it will go way faster in the straight but the corner speeds drop, and vice versa. In LeMans all trimmed out the cars goes in the 190s but is not very fun to drive in the corners due to lack of downforce.
