cleaning corroded electrical connectors...coca cola?

Just wondering whats the best way to clean corroded terminals on connectors? I got a few that have white powder and a green film on them. I was talking to someone who set to soak them in coca cola and thought it was kind of silly. Also heard of using vinegar. Any thoughts? I really like the idea of dipping it in the coke because it would clean the corrosion out of the female terminals that you can't get a brush into

pb blaster works great, after you get it cleaned up,put some dielectric grease in the terminals.

How about an electrical contact cleaner?????? I am sure you can pick some up at radio shack. Once clean you can use WD-40 or a similar product to protect.

Baking Soda and water, flush good, dry and light coat of grease. Works great.

As somebody else said, remember that cleaning a corroded terminal is only half the fix. The terminal corroded for a reason. In many cases it's because the protective plating broke down and allowed the corrosion to start in the first place. Now it's gone and things just corrode even faster.

So once you get the corrosion removed, you need to prevent it from coming back. Although a new terminal might be the ultimate fix, products like Fluid Film do wonders for preventing corrosion.

They make a spray that you use after you get them clean that protects them, it is made to protect the battery terminals & other unprotected electronic connections.

Dielectric grease made by a # of manufactures. NAPA has it.
