The 290 SC is a great boat,built the same thing in 05 with Kenny and Steve.We put over 300 hours on the 525 package with no problems..Hull or motor.Congrats!

I too owned a 2004 290SC with 496's and Loved the boat......it was generally faster than shorter boats equiped with same power. (The bottom is exactly the same a the 2005 APBA Kilo record holding VR-1) I used to compare driving my pad bottom 290SC to that of a Corvette on water. Definelty a drivers boat!!...and a very safe boat as well!!.....the only boat I would attempt a high speed radial turn in........that's for sure! I was finally faced with upgrading power in my 290SC or jumping up in size and going with twins!! I now run SSR#1 with 525's and couldn't be happier!! Have Fun with your Velocity! . |
