Where to buy reasonable bunk carpet?
Where's a good source to buy black bunk carpet? A couple of the places I've looked at online must be offering a free bar of gold with each order based on some of the prices I've seen... and they are often only selling narrow strips. Where can you buy it by the yard at a reasonable price?

Got grey at home depot last year for mine

+1 Homeo Depot Very nice good quality carpet , just redid mine last fall . Now getting stainless steel staples in the proper length is another thing .

I personally like the charcoal color better than black. |
If you need to watch a video on how to staple carpet to a piece of wood, then.... :picard1:
At least it's free, might not be a big $$ maker for them otherwise. :) |
Manards has it, pretty good price to.

I just had my trailer redone, and we recovered the bunks, I purchased the carpit from MYCO trailers. Great carpit, worth every penny, not sure who there supplier it. It also wont wear out like the other cheap stuff.

I use 3m contact glue on my bunks an don't cover the bottom of your bunks so they dry. The glue keeps it tight with no loose places. Last a lot longer.Use a router an round the edges so the boat won't cut the carpet.

Dug my bunk carpet out of shed.
I have a 100' of Myco black bunk carpet, it is 13" wide. Make an offer in any interest. |
Does anyone know if the trailer bunk carpet is an unbacked carpet or regular tufted broadloom carpet which could be stiff and harder to bend?
Thanks |
Being the skin flint I am, I have been successfully using Home Depots outdoor carpet for yrs.
Here's another little HD tip. Everyone picks on me or laughs about it but it works like a *****. Their latex based, epoxy garage floor paint at less than $30. a gallon makes killer floor/bilge paint. Get the gray and it looks just like factory sprayed gray gel. White would probably look good too but will show more dirt and in the Fla sun down here, white glares bad on floors. Have done several boats w/it w/100% success. The floor, bilge and swim platform of my Sonic are all done with it. Has stood up to trim fluid, gas, 2 stroke oil and even acetone and laquer thinner! |
