I honestly don't understand what you're worried about... It's been like that for a long time and nothing has happened (and likely won't), not to mention that OP isn't all that bad, I know I wouldn't be overly concerned about it. I'd just keep a casual eye on it and make sure noting changes.
IMO, take the boat out and enjoy tipping a beer back. :) |
I don't think you have anything to worry about.....I have run a few boats in my time and have encountered this more often than not!!!!!

SS390... I worry about everything... it's in my nature LOL

Don't worry - be happy!
I understand why you worry , its obviously some of your nature but "Worry + Boating = Lousey, Not so Fun Boating!"
"Action, Only When Needed + Boating = Fun Safe Boating!" My personal opinion at this point based on your findings and input is you don't really have a problem. Just monitor the oil pressure ocasionally, a little closer when above 4000 rpms and if it stays the same and does not degrade furthur you should be just fine until its really time to refresh or rebuild. What about the old rule of thumb that you should have 10psi per thousand rpm? He doesnt have that:party-smiley-004:
.........Just messin. If the experts think you are good, you more than likely are.:drink: |
or the experts need some business...lol

I must have Missouri blood in me -Show Me!
Raylar has quite a nice level of engine buisness we care to handle correctly and I doubt we will ever see Jpazluski's engines.
Just trying to give him some reasonable information, clarification and advise. Not plugg'in for work here! Never seen a mild marine performance engine grenade at 45-47 psi oil pressure at 5000 rpms where oil pressure was shown to be the problem. If you've seen different I would like to hear the facts! I always try and keep an open mind and learn more. Best Regards, Ray @ Raylar |
