First run of the year - two Sunsations and a Nordic

A couple weeks ago we got out on Lake Travis with two Sunsation Dominators and a Nordic Heat. Great day for a run, very little traffic and almost warm enough ;)

Finally got some pics up:

Is'nt the lake still 45 to 50 ft low?

Captain YARRR 03-19-2012 07:23 AM

Yes it is. The upside to that is that there is very little traffic with all the public ramps closed.

Great picks, now if it would just stop snowing in the PNW, we could really get excited!!!

As of yesterday its 47' below, so it is moving in the right direction. I hope to get up there again this year. Had a blast last year.

Texas thats why no water:stooges:

It is filling up nicely, we caught several feet from that rain. Enough that a fair amount of public ramps should be accessible now.

Hope to see pics after you get her! Must feel like a kid before Christmas

Not from what I have seen. We are up 6 ft from where it was before the rains, but need another 10 ft before we see some ramps start to open up (other than the one at the dam which is open at 632 ft). Of course there are still some private ones open, speaking of which, where did you guys launch from?

Captain YARRR 03-23-2012 09:02 AM

Yes, I misspoke a little bit, more marinas not public ramps are accessible now. We need 5 ft for Jones Bros to open and 8 ft for Sandy Creek. Still a considerable amount of ways to go but definitely achievable before the season really gets going.

I've been launching at Highland Lakes all winter.
