What prop??

I have a 241 TANK, I mean Liberator. single 460. best mph to date is 52. Im currently running a viper 19 pitch, which had been repitched to 20 and, the standard cup went from 8 to 12 cup. I can get the boat to trim very well thanks to the added cup. Just wondering if this is all the boat has in it. Any suggestions on a better prop combo?

Bigbird , did you ever try a 21 Viper ? I had a 88 210 Horizon that stock came with a 350 sbc and thats what i ran . I later stroked the engine to 383 , raised the x 1 3/4 " and hung a King Cobra drive with a nose cone on it . Still used the 21 Viper and ran 68 radar . The four blade OMC Renegade works very well also .

I have not tried that. only had a hand full on props to try, hard to find something being an OMC. I have another viper core that I can play with and get repitched. I would hate to buy a new one for $400 and have it not do anything. all my buddys run merc.

You might want to mention what rpm you are running at WOT.

running about 4900-5000 R's

says 4400-4800. and it is accurate, I installed my autometer tach just to check, its within 50 rpm. but what I dont get is stock prop for my boat is a viper 14.5 X 19. when I put that on it revs to about 5300, that is why I had it repitched to 20 and added cup. I have a line up for a 21 mirage plus, I just need to get the OMC hub kit. I might buy that and try it.

The 21p should put you rite at 4800 . If you can find a used Viper , grab it . OMC drives seem to like OMC props' . Check e-bay . Better speed and fuel efficiency will surely be the result . Rite now your over revving and thats not good .

I took a viper core to the prop shop, getting a 14.5 X 21 built for it, going with the 12 cup also. hopefully get er out on the water soon for some testing. he said it should lower me 200 R's im hoping its perfect.
