Visiting Ft. Lauderdale

Im vacationing in Ft. Lauderdale on the beach. Any one know of any performance boat dealers or anywhere to see some nice boats. Granted there are as many yachts here as cars, I'd like to see some performance boats. Also, any dinner reccomendations? Thanks

Walk up and down Los Olas blvd,,,there are a few go fasts here and there. The aqua toy store is in the area also. If you feel like doing a little driving, go visit LipShip and Cigarette Racing....
Also, do the ft lauderdale water taxi. You can see alot :)
As of food, go to Shooters...nice place!

As far as looking at some performance boats you could go see the guys at FastBoats in Pompano Beach about 4 miles north of Lauderdale on Federal Highway.
You could also go see Mindy @ Dollar Offshore in Hollywood, Active Thunder Boats also in Pompano, both real close also.

Best Regards,
Ray @ Raylar

Blue Martini off Sunrise and Bravo off 17street , two of my favorite places in Ft Lauderdale.

And depending if you are ready for a wild night or what your style is, Cash Bar can recommend a great place called American Backyard. :D

Lots of restaurants and bars on Las Olas Blvd, my favorite restaurant in that area is Johnny V and best bar is Yolo.

Breakfast At the Pelican Grand Hotel, Sit right out on the patio over looking the beach.

Want a sweet meat Ball, good italian, and a one of a kind dining/club experience, Martoranos, The meatball appetizer is $10, the rest gets expensive, go after dark. http://www.cafemartorano.com/ ,

Want to feel like your about to get wacked during a sitdown at an italian Joint, Anthonys Runway 84. cool old school place.

15th street Fisheries is a good place to have a few beers, and a casual type dinner, all the while watching the boats go by, and the patrons feeding huge tarpon while you eat.

Grille 66 at the Pier 66 Hyatt hotel and marina is fantastic, yet a bit high end. You cant go wrong with anything on the menu. but order the lump crab meat appetizer.

Chart House or Shooters right next door are pretty good places to have some lunch and see the intercoastal view, its best on the weekends, Sunday after 3pm Bootleggers is fun, not near as fun as it used to be, but its ok.

Water Taxi is a great inexpensive way to see Lauderdale by water, and where the water taxi ride ends, the Jungle Queen picks up, so both can compliment each other.

The other guys also mentioned some great places as well, Yolos , and a trip up and down las olas is a must, theres the galleria on sunrise blvd, home to Blue Martini, Pf Changs, Trulucks, Capital Grill, and Seasons 52.

Finding Go fast Boats around is usualy luck of the draw, Fast Boats.com has a few in the show room, TNT Marine in north miami might be a good place as well.

National Marine Liquidators might be a place to look at a go fast boat or two, as well as spending a day looking at all kinds of boats, just becareful about making a bid on one, alot of times that part is not too smooth.

I always like to go to the Pelican bar at pier 66. Just very basic food, cold drinks, and one of the best views around. Just my opinion.

You are right, that one is a gem, especially when everything else is crowded, there always seems to be an open spot there, only bad thing is right now there is a huge mega yacht blocking most of the view, a few weeks ago I went as well, and some Ahole named S. Spielburg :evilb: decided to dock his boat right in front of my table! lol

Pelican bar is in this video some where, :thankyouthankyou:

Thanks for all the help......We ate Sunday Brunch at Pelican Grand, just gorgeous. We were simply driving and saw the sign, what a nice place, we ate outside. $40 a person but the food was fantastic and the view was peiceless. Last night we had dinner at the 15th St fisheries, very nice and even fed the Tarpon. Today we drove down Las Olas and saw a 88' Pershing sitting outside this gorgeous huge home. We also went to fastboats.com and had a fun time there. We saw them getting a 40-something foot orange, yellow and black MTI with 1075's ready for some guy in Ny that supposedly owns an insulation business. I guess there was bad gas in it so they were having issues but it looked and sounded sweeeet! Makes my 33 Outlaw look like a Bayliner! We went over to the huge indoor marina behind it, everyone at both places were so nice. What a set up. We also did the Jungle Queen tour and we are getting ready to go on it again for the dinner cruise. We are staying at the Westin so we will walk next door to the W for dinner one night as recommended. We also want to check out the Hard Rock casino. Wish my boat was with us, the ocean seems amazing. Thanks for all the help guys!

As already said 954 Steak at the W is a must and Yolo too :evilb:

Another good intra-coastal joint is Houston's on Atlantic Blvd

Then for go fasts take a ride down to TNT & Lip-Ship. Its only about a 20-30 minute drive from Ft. Lauderdale beach, depending on traffic and how fast you drive, but that's going to be the best place for go-fasts.

Another cool place is Duffy's in Sunny Isles, it's a sports bar on the intra-coastal and down near haulover sand bar.

Enjoy!! :drink:
