Cat on Orange County Choppers
Just an FYI on now
|
Just seen it. Anyone know the guy running the throttles?
|
Speeds quoted by Vinnie a joke. That boat couldn't run 80mph in those seas. Should have called Johnny T for a thrill ride in a Skater!
|
The Camaro they were building looked decent (but still not my style) until they polished the aluminum panels. It looked much better with raw aluminum... The seat covers were a pretty nice design, but executed poorly. For being new covers they fit terrible. For the sticker price on that car (I am sure it is up there) the new seat covers should have been much tighter. I know this is very off topic, but the guys at West Coast Customs do very nice interior work. Much of it is way too over the top and definately not my style but the craftsmanship is top notch. Ok back to the boat. The conditions looked pretty rough and the throttle man was barely pushing that thing. It didn't look like he got past 1/4 throttle. Jr. took a ride in the plane.... Why would you take a plane ride when you had the opportunity to take a ride in a CAT in those conditions? That looked like fun, no matter how fast they were going.....

Replay on now
The Camaro/Ferrari race was such BS. Sad how "produced" the show is at times |

Hell wth the cars...I want the camera truck! whats the tow rating??
I was in Vegas and saw the flat black Cayenne Turbos in action on the Strip filming a chase scene: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfS27lNIctw http://www.pursuitsystems.com/img/sl...che/slide1.jpg http://jrphoto.com.au/blog/wp-conten...Camera-Arm.png Let me tell you, that Porsche hauled ASS and handled better than the Maserati. BUT... I doubt they had such on the OCC Soap Opera. |
The local agent/marine coordinator...(whoever that is) maybe did not have PJD/OCC best interest in mind.
There was a big power MTI standing by with very competent crew, but greed over a few hundred dollars took over and they went a different way. The reality is only the people who know the difference really know and we certainly do. |
Hey Anthony did I here you have gone cat crazy? It was BS but you just can't jump in and drive in that condition and run wide open first time out. The car build was nice looking but the aluminum will not hold up it will need polishing all the time and the paint will come off around the metal not to say the water that will get under the metal and corode and in the north freez and push the metal up .

All of these quasi-reality shows are dying. They 'jumped-the-shark' with Storage Wars. Every time a cast member bought a storage room, they found some rare piece of art or memorbilia.
Not sure why they had to design a custom Camaro, except to appease a sponsor. I missed the boating scene and decided not to sit through the replay. Paul Sr., Junior, Mikey and Vinnie should go the route of Trump. Transition from a show you think might be real, to hosting a celebrity build-off contest try to resurrect a has-been's career. |
Those camera vehicles are dad azz. Thats a pretty cool set up. And as for that OCC show, i cant believe people still watch them building the same bike over and over again. I liked the one were they had 2 builders build bikes against each other and then ride actually ride them. I think that was biker buildoff if im not mistaken.

I just watched that episode. Getting ready to race was what they said.....in a boat with 'S' numbers on it, with APBA and SBI stickers on it, with back seats in it. My bet is that boat hasn't raced in awhile.
|
The boat was a Stock Class 30' AMT that has raced in the past.
|
Did it happen to be S-77?

Yes, s-77. They were not running at all, i laughed when vinny mentioned something around 4-6 foot waves. They would be hurting in that

S-77 is the SS Cat I drove 2004-2005. 30 AMT owned/throttled by Allen christie. They probably found him through the Boca Hotel Charter program.
Glad I recorded it. Now I have to go watch. |
I must pass on the car minus the performance gains, I cant imagine the coin would justify buying something nasty looking.
