vacation
Upper Chesapeake Bay is great, plenty of places to stay and eat. Good entertainment, great food plenty of places to throw out the hook and just spent the day swimming and eating, Head back to what ever marina you are staying at, get showered up and have a nice dinner. Skipjack Marina in the Sassafras River has great shower facilities dining and a pool. You have the Chesapeake Inn, the Nauti Goose, Jelli Fish Joels, Red Eyes, and the Baltimore Inner Harbor just to name a few. I would not even think of Lake Norman, to many boats on the weekend and just to confining. Been there done that. Got pulled over by the local marine police because i had an out of state registration. Chesapeake Bay hands down. Coming this way, look me up and i will give you the tour. (Sam)

Another vote for the northern Chesapeake:
Artie, We are doing the NJPPC Atlantic City Poker Run on June 23/24, but will be around from Monday the 25th onwards. Even if we can't be on the Bay with you every day, we can certainly recommend an itinerary that will keep you constantly engaged with as much or little running around as you want to do. Do you have a chartplotter? |
You guys got me thinkin... never been there yet. nuther added to the bucket list.
|
If you don't mind salt water, Clear water Beach Florida rocks!!!

Looks like we are heading to Charlevoix! After the wife took one look at the visitor guide Wrinkleface sent us she was sold.
Thanks for all the other great suggestions, I really enjoy traveling with the boat, so we will make it to all of them someday! :drink: |
Also - The plan is to make Charlevoix municipal marina home base, is it safe to leave the rig at the launch? Or is there a storage option close by that wont break the bank?
|
Start in jax fla and take th icw all the way to miami. You can leave boat and trailer here and Ill drive down and pick you up at the end. Its something the wife and i always wanted to do. Just a crazy thought.

Ahh, good to see my hometown! I'll be looking on that same water starting next Tuesday! Sounds like you have a local source but if you need ANY info about the area dont hesitate to ask. Hal Evans is the Harbormaster, great guy.

Lake Charlevoix to Bay Harbor to Petoskey to Harbor Springs to Mackinaw Island to the Detour Pass. And you can end it at my marina in Cheboygan and I'll have one of my workers drive you back to your truck and trailer in Charleviox and follow him back to Cheboygan and pull out there. Just let me know Brian 312-933-3298 Cheboygan Village Marina 231-597-8364 |
