More cabin room. I also believe you can get one with twins. ( don't quote me)

29 has ~120 gallon fuel tank versus a 67 gallon tank in the 27 and that makes a big difference on boating range between fueling and trying to find fuel while on the water, considering where you said you were going to run it. The 29 has more or less the same speed for same engine package when looking at 500EFI's (most newer 27's will only have a 496HO ~@ 68 -70 mph, maybe one or two with 500 EFI @ 75ish mph, nothing bigger unless its not OEM). Depending on power, the 27 will chine walk quicker than the 29 (our stepped hull 27 with HP 500 would chine walk around 75 mph). In the 29, there is ~ 1' extra distance between the back of the front seats and front of the back seats. Might not sound like much, but it looks/feels like a very big difference when you are in the boat. Access into the cabin is easier in the 29 - different hatch configuration, and I think the 29 is deeper boat than a 27 (at least the 2003 - 2006ish models). You give up a port side seat in the cuddy on the 29 and get a pressurized sink and built in cooler, instead, for whatever that is worth - we never used the sink or the cooler. There is a little difference in ride quality, but nothing earth shattering. All of the 29 attributes I am talking about are for the 29 single engine boats, not the twin engine boats. We have had 2 27 Fevers' (HP500 and 496HO) and 3 29 Fevers' (500EFI, 575SCi, and 525EFI)and a Formula 292 with twin 6.2's which performs very near the twin 6.2 29 Fever. Both the 27 Fever and 29 Fever are nice boats, but the 29, in my opinion, is a nicer all around package. I would skip the later model 29 with twin 6.2's, (they no longer put BBC's in them after ~ 2000) but that is just my opinion. They only run ~ 70 mph for a total of 640 hp whereas a single 525 EFI will run 76 -78 mph. Plus, you have to do all modifications X 2 ,like changing props, drive oil, engine oil, etc (and exhaust manifolds if you run in salt since they are not closed cooling system), and the 6.2's like to eat IAC's - you need to carry spares .... just ask anyone who has a Formula 292 about the 6.2's and IAC issues. Ours ate 2 during the time we owned it. Most of the 292's had 6.2's in them so there is a lot of experience about that. You can do a search on the 6.2's in the Formula forum on here.

Thank you very much for the info. I am only interested in a single and it sounds like the 29 is the way to go if I can find something at a reasonable price but I won't rule out a 27.

Not sure what's on it. If you want the details, call Joe Paris or Al Sutter at the marina. (585) 394-0918.
