i guess he still has the old boat for sale..
and.. i hear this one ran him around $1.2mil all said and done.
no, it doesnt have afterburners, therefore it cant blow flames out the back.. but.. with about 190mph in the palm of your hands, who cares about the flames

You know that boat was built in an attempt to beat Jet Set. Jet Set has Arneson drives and recently won King of the Hudson in the NY Poker Run at 172. Not too shabby.

More people need to spend a mil on these turbine toys just so we can oggle them and prey for a ride.

Slingshott, what experience do you have with Skaters with Arneson's or with Arneson's? Or surface Drives?

Jet Set handles very well to all accounts, everyone says the boat will turn on a dime at very high speeds. Someone pointed out that it won "king of the Hudson"

The Sorcerer boat seems to go fast and handle very well.

There is a new 40's Flat Deck Skater with Turbines and Arneson's in Baltimore...

190???

Isnít the radar run in Barnegat Bay coming up soon?

Just for the record, "172 MPH is not JET SET's top speed." The owner respects the boat and the water he is in, and surely keeps a bit more throttle in the bag. 172 in NY was for the water conditions, plus that was all it was going to take to win the King of the Hudson.
Personally, I don't think any of these turbine owners will know their top end speed. Do any of them really want to???

As far as arneson cat's go: what is the official documented best run for sorceror?? there isnt one. that thing has 2000 horse a side. with those #'s in a 40' skater, that thing should double the century mark.. but, in gananocque last year, marty flaska's 36' skater w/ 900's walked all over it. And, talking to the pilot of flaska's boat, he said he had that thing taped open all day at about 150 and couldnt touch the old My Way.

Also, when is the last time you saw an Arneson propelled cat win an offshore race?? there's no question that Arneson's have a significant advantage over Bravo's for reliablilty and speed, due to the fact they are surface peircing, but, never being in an Arneson boat, I hear they dont handle all that great. And, we all know that if Keikhafer could so anything to improve the 6, it would have been done some time ago.

As far as him not entering the A Bay run, I guess there are still a couple of bugs to work out with the boat. Maybe he'll be in this weekend's former Casino de Hull run...

All APBA super cats must run #6 drives by the rules. Tommy Bahama has surface drives and is faster than most.

Plus, the Arensons allow Jet Set to throw a 100 yrd long roostertail that is just amazing.

One is not better than the other, these are all amazing boats.
