Need help understanding how to remove CD player from the dash of my Baja Hammer
I just purchased my '97 Baja Hammer 214 and need suggestions on how to remove the original stereo reciever. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks all. |
If you don't know how to remove it, should you really be installing something different yourself????
Just cut some 4" pieces of a metal coat hanger and stick them in the 4 little holes on the front. It should slide out then. It may also have a brace strap on the back of the head unit that will need to be disconnected. |
What brand is the stereo

Typically the outer trim ring comes of the head unit, very carefully snaps off by hand. Then a special tool that resembles a stamped sheet-metal "key" with no teeth slides in each side and depresses the tabs that snap the unit into the housing or frame. I had two keys that would go in each side at the same time, pops the unit right out.
You may want to call Crutchfield and get the correct keys/tools for your brand unit. When I sold my last boat, I left the keys taped in a drawer inside the cabin. Did you receive any documentation, owners manual? They may be in there.... |
