Need help understanding how to remove CD player from the dash of my Baja Hammer
I just purchased my '97 Baja Hammer 214 and need suggestions on how to remove the original stereo reciever. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks all.

If you don't know how to remove it, should you really be installing something different yourself????
Just cut some 4" pieces of a metal coat hanger and stick them in the 4 little holes on the front. It should slide out then. It may also have a brace strap on the back of the head unit that will need to be disconnected.

Typically the outer trim ring comes of the head unit, very carefully snaps off by hand. Then a special tool that resembles a stamped sheet-metal "key" with no teeth slides in each side and depresses the tabs that snap the unit into the housing or frame. I had two keys that would go in each side at the same time, pops the unit right out.
You may want to call Crutchfield and get the correct keys/tools for your brand unit. When I sold my last boat, I left the keys taped in a drawer inside the cabin. Did you receive any documentation, owners manual? They may be in there....
