Sea hawk 28
Just starting out in go fast boats a friend of mine got me hooked on this with his pickel fork man this thing is fast. I refurbish a lot of fishing boats i mean a lot of fishing boats so this has started out as something diffrent and it is a blast. I bought a 28 sea hawk that was put together in florida with twin 2.5 mercury outboards the boat had set up for about 3 to 4 years and needed some work one power head was blown. Interior trashed but nothing major so we started on it and are well underway to date both motors are now running and it is getting new upolstrey as i am typing this again this is something new for me and i found this forum and joined up just wondering if anyone has ever seen this boat to try and get some history on her. her name is DIRTY DEEDS Thanks for any info hope you enjoy the photo bucket and will post more pics as it unfolds what a great site. Help can't figure out how to post pics...

SeaHawks where good race boats, Even better smuggling boats. they are built very well and are good in rough water. they guys that built them went on to race bigger better boats but still built them as pleasure boats. good for you saving another one from the landfill. search on here you should find some good info.

Cool Boat, Notice how the chine flares out at the bottom of the hull sides, this requires that hull mold be two pieces, split down the middle. it wouldn't come out of a one piece mold.

thanks for info just picked her up from upolstery shop today a little at a time i will update pics tonight or early tommorw having new decals made for boat and motor

Here's a link to a thread I had about her last year. My son and I were on our way to the Houston boat show and stopped to take a look at her as a potential boat for him, she was on Craigslist Houston for sale at a car lot on the Eastex freeway.
I'm curious, what did you give for her? http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/g...-raceboat.html See ya, Kelly |
that was a fair deal i got new power head put on and the otherone ran fine still have a way to go but having fun

Congrats on picking up the unit at a fair price.
I'm glad to see someone will be fixing her up. I'm certain that with a pair of Offshore 2.5's she'll carry some great speeds, I'm not intimate with OB's but my understanding is these motors were designed for sustained high RPM operation. When we looked at her she was a little rough but other than the blown powerhead, it appeared mostly cosmetics of the salon and the cockpit. See ya, Kelly |
