Even if 2012 becomes a "turnaround year" for the high-performance powerboat industry, I think you can expect the restoration business to grow. It offers a lower-cost (although nothing in the go-fast boat world is "cheap") alternative to stepping up to a newer used boat or a brand-new one.

Nothing more "green" than recycling good high performance boats right?

Indeed. And while several hundred hours might be a lot on a pair of engines, and it's not much on a well cared-for fiberglass boat. (With exceptions, of course—some fiberglass boats, notably those on Lake Michigan and the Atlantic Ocean off New Jersey, take more of a beating than others.) :)
