Food!
Eating at the beach bar is good, but what do you have for bring aboard ideas or recepies.
I have a fridge, but no microwave or stove. Cant eat bags of salty snacks all weekend. |
We do chicken salad wraps a lot. the flavored wraps are good and they are easy to make if you want to do it aboard... even if you premake them they don't really get soggy.
We also do a lot of pasta salads. Watermelon is always a good fruit... nice and cold. |
Sprinkle a little salt on the tomotoes and bread to keep the bread from getting soggy.
I make sandwiches or have cole cuts and crackers with cheeses.Couple of other ideas: Lunchables. Could get you a little coleman camping stove with propane. I've premade hot dogs and left them out in the sun inside a ziplock for a half hour or so. Helps if you have something hot like black or dark upholstery to set them on. You can make a vegetable salad with onions, cucumbers, etc. Could make a pasta salad. Suppose you could also du sushi if you like that sort of thing. Any meat that is good served cold. Shrimp cocktail. Fruit. |
i buy these single serving lunch meat things at a local store and stuff to make wraps (bread gets smashed) also whenever i'm in a place like subway i nab tons of those mayonnaise packets and whatever they have. Little Debbies and snack stuff, fresh fruit like grapes or whatever travels well maybe a small watermelon. I use to over buy and get way to much stuff but after a while i figured out just the right amount of snacks. I also have a fridge but hardly ever use it, get the best cooler you can buy and it should only need ice a few times a weekend. Both my boats have un used microwaves, heck the one still has the owners manual in it lol, pretty much useless. Hummus, pita bread, cheese and salami are always popular and travel well. Pending on our destination i will get grillable stuff if thats what the groups doing.

We grill.
|
I built that grill 20 years ago. It's been around.
|
Chicken or Turkey wraps, apples and pears, and the one that seems to go over the best with drunks is salary and jar of peanut butter. veggie trays are nice to.
|
Salted Peanuts in shell, wraps with rice, chicken and lettuce slaw. I like to take a couple of apples for myself, and sometimes some sweet hawaiian rolls and butter.
Oh, and Guiness.... That qualifies as food right? |

Oh, and Guiness.... That qualifies as food right? My food comes in a 12 oz. can, seriously though, we usually grill hotdogs, bring sandwiches, or just stop at a restaurant. |
The above works well, have done the foil wrapped hotdogs plenty of times.
Chicken is another easy one. Be it fried or grilled, it travels well. One of the guys in our group grills a lot of various meats the night before or morning of and cuts it up so its easy to eat, either in a wrap or just as it is. |
