Beater boat ideas?

Looking for a beater boat in the 24ft range. Just looking for something to kick around in until I finish the shadow.

Criteria

5 grand
Around 24ft
I/O or O/B
Cabin
50+ mph
Trailer
1985 or newer
Within 300 or so miles from Jersey

Thanks in advance

There is a guy selling a 24 Outlaw in the Baja section. Should fit your bill.

Opps did not see the 5 grand tag.

Have I got a deal for you! Just has a few short comings for what you are looking for!

1988 BVT 16' Beck Boat with a 16 HP Briggs twin cylinder direct drive. Electric Start!!! Built right here on Pine Island, Florida

6 MPH in head wind, 7+ MPH in tail wind!

Stick and cable steering

AND here is the sweetness!!! Runs all week on 6 gallons of pump gas!

If I left here now, I could deliver it to you by water by the end of this summer! Well to Perth Amboy !

24 is a pretty big beater. I picked up this cream puff for kickin around in the pre and post boating season. This thing is a blast, thinkin about converting it to a Berkley jet some day.

record setting kilo run right here lol

I picked up a 85 Baja Force 250 this year. It isn't bad, but I would qualify it as a beater boat. it has a 350, and a nice size cuddy (for when you need to go up font)

Although I don't expect 50+, 45 would be more realistic. I paid $3000, It needed a impeller in the alpha 1.

Agreed, I guess staying in the 24' range may be out of league. I just want something that's easy for others to drive as with all of my past boats I'm always stuck driving.

4 years ago I bought an 88 Chris Craft 245 limited for around $2,500 with another $1,500 for the trailer. Unfortunately it had the 330/alpha combo and went through drives daily. So something similar would suffice.

I dont think your criteria is a beater boat, more along the lines of good used boat. But you can probably find what you want in that price range but its going to be 90 or lower might get lucky with mid 90's I sold a 93 Crownline 225 two years ago for 9500 im sure that boat is still worth 6-8.

Beater boat in my mind would be aluninum 18ft with around a 90hp engine.
