I need to decide between an 87' Formula 223 and a 94" Crownline 225 CCR

Formula: http://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/boa/2938387735.html

-I can get it for about $8700 - $8900.... it was re-powered in 2002... it does have an alpha drive though

Crownline: http://saginaw.craigslist.org/boa/2949443998.html

-I got this guy talked down to $9300. Re-powered in 2008. It has a bravo 1.

Right now I am leaning towards the Formula cause it is longer (22.3 ft + swim plat = 24 ft) and a little cheaper.

What do you guys suggest?

Thanks!!!!!
Also Add this Baja:

Is that Baja a Bravo boat?

I'd see if you can seat trial the Formula or Baja this month and see which you like better. As PPJ mentioned, a survey is worth the money.

The baja looks very clean in the interior shots, is a pretty timeless look/color/paint and the Crockett motor if in good shape would have me leaning that way.

I haven't seen if you answered if the 454 in the Formula is a car crate motor or Merc unit?

The Baja has a Bravo with a shower as well as the Crownline having a bravo with a shower.

I will try to look at the Baja tonight as it is pretty close to me...

How bad would that engine be on gas?

Shouldn't be bad on gas unless you run WFO all the time.

Agreed. It'll have the ability to run faster/make more power (read as "drink more fuel") than the 454, but at like speeds it'll burn similar to the others I believe.

So, if you drive faster cuz you can, you'll burn more. If you go the same speeds it'll be about the same more or less. They're all gonna use more gas than you want.

Two cabin boats and a Baja? your kind of all over the place.what is it exactly your looking for? Dead rise ? Freeboard? Cuddy Cabin? Quality? Sex appeal?

Formula is an Aronow founded boat company best built quality out of all previously linked boats. But the 223 is only a 22 dead rise.
Not sure but I think the Baja and the Crownline are 21 dead rise. the Crown has the most free board out of every boat company but also makes them tanks Slowwwww, big wake, very heavy to tow.

Bajas are not considered a premiere boats unless you own one

The Formula 242 that was link is a 24 dead rise. that will be the best riding boat out of all in a chop, But requires a little seat time to learn the quarks of a 24 dead rise.

Here's a nice pre step Z boat for short money http://boats.iboats.com/1987-donzi-p...s/1154125.html
