4th of July weekend on the Hudson River
 

What is going on for the 4th of July weekend on the Hudson?
Does anyone want to get together and go to sandy beach one of the days or have any suggestions?

I spoke to a bunch of NYC policemen yesterday. Apparently, the city is going to be on high alert. I'd steer clear of the Southern area of the Hudson if I were you.

I run 7 miles up/down the Hudson 6 days a week. Twice this week there was absolutely NO boat traffic - AT HIGH NOON, and the ships that were on the river were anchored. Furthermore, there were no planes, and the GW is in the flight pattern for both JFK and LaGuardia airports. However, I did see a TON of helicopters, and not the usual CG type. These were military.

I asked the toll operator at the GW about this, and she had no idea what was going on, but was obviously concerned.

Something wicked this way comes, and I'm high tailing it outta here next Tuesday. I have a baaaaad feeling, a really baaaaad feeling. If I show up in Sarasota, you know why. LI is not an option.
