Congratulations Active Thunder

I'm sure a lot of you have been following the construction and final testing of Thunderdan's Active Thunder. IT's a 37AVH with Keith Eickert's 675 SC-EFI engines. From what I understand, this boat is LOADED to the hilt with everything in it, including a hot water heater! I was impressed when the boat ran 94MPH right out of the box. With 5-blade Hering props, I was blown over with 97MPH!! That would have been enough for me. I read earlier, that at Lake X today, with Merc's Sportmaster lower's the final GPS reading was 102 MPH!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!! Very impressive.

Congratulations Pat, at Active Thunder, and Thunderdan.

I spoke to Rick (the one who drove it for dial-in at the lake) and he said it should run 105 mph in saltwater with a little chop. He also said that it has a lil' more left in it...WOW!

Congratulations to ThunderDan! Were the speedmasters on the boat during the initial testing? I’m curious how much these new lower units increase speed!

Congradulations on the numbers!!!

Now, if I could just figure out a way to buy me one!!!

:D :D

Brad,

Mercury's new Sportmaster lower gear cases were not installed on the XR drives at the initial testing, as far as i know. I am also curious as to the increased speed, but i also would like to know how these new lowers effected the handling of the boat. If i remember one of the postings on this subject, it was said at 97 or maybe it was at 94 MPH, the boat ran like it was "on rails". Did the boat run like it was on rails with these new lowers at 102 MPH????
