Thanks, the guy that did mine had the speaker covers painted to match and had the grills powdercoated clear to prevent rust. I did not ask for that he just did it....

I love the Rockford fosgate marine speakers, kenwood amps, jbl subs and sony cdx decks for overall value and good quality. Make sure you dont scrimp on the wiring! Spend the extra money for good 2 or 4 gauge power wires and 8 gauge to the amp. Personally I like using a capacitor as well (1.5 farad for 1 amp). I also recommend a blue top optima--they deliver outstanding power to the capacitor.
--hard to do all of this for $500 but deals are out there on craigslist if you are willing to buy used.

I just installed a huge system in my boat (14 speakers, 3 amps and 2 subs along with 3 new batteries) and it just pounds at all volume levels!
