The Never ending Poker Run! What a great day. This day started at the Lobster Shanty at 8:30, and at 10:00 Saturday night, it was still going strong. Thank you DaveP and the tireless workers of the NJPPC. What a Job! Breakfast at the Lobster Shanty was top shelf. Great food, we had the whole place to ourselves. How Dave and the crew got 60 big boats docked and rafted up is still a mystery. When we left the docks, under State Police escort the Whole River was pounding with Horse Power. We started with the group that was going to run the outside leg, but after turning south to go down the bay towards Barnegat inlet, The vote on the boat was to run the inside leg, oh well, head North and wait at the bridge for the other group running inside. Kim kept saying, “Go South, they are getting away” How do you like that? From there we headed North to the first stop, KenP kept us company stop after stop. I know it is not a race, but there were quite a few cats that pushed pretty hard, NOT RACING. After picking up the last card down in LBI, part of the group went north to the Waters Edge, and the rest of us headed to the Dutchmen’s for a few cold ones. The party at the Southwinds was awesome. Great food, great friends, and many war stories from the run. The Menu covered it all, Gourmet, and something for everyone, Fish, chicken, steak, you name it. After 14 hours of fun we all barely dragged ourselves home. Once Again, Thanks DaveP and the whole NJPPC.

WOO-HOO! We pulled off another one!
Well, 250 people, 60 boats, 2 dozen volunteers, 4 MONOC Paramedics, 3 OPA Girls and 2 radio personalities........we did it again!
A big thanks to everyone who atteneded the event as well as everyone on the Planning Committee. The NJ State Police were also awesome and we thank them for their support!! The best news is that everyone completed the event safely
There were alot of familiar faces as well as new ones which was nice to see.
The folks at the Lobster Shanty were fantastic as usual. As for South Winds Grille, I think we have found a new home! They did a party for us that was absolutely unbelievable!! The 2nd Floor deck & Dining Room was tremendous. As perviously mentioned, the food was fantastic! I was one of the last ones to eat and there was enough Steak, Chicken and Salmon still left to feed an army!
The live broadcast on OLDIES 100 WJRZ was great! Chris Van Zandt had a blast on Rich dePierro's new 38 Cigarette.
Alot of people thanked me for the event and THANK YOU... BUT! It's the combination of the great volunteers, great members and great sponsors that make us what we are. I'm just the guy behind the wheel.
See you at the Water's Edge for the Radar Shootout PRE-PARTY Friday July 12th and the Shootout Saturday July 13th.
