Default First Build Photos of Radical Race Cat

Lee Austin is about to shake things up.

This stunning handbuilt piece should be the safest and quickest ever built.

Coming from the guy who owns his class Kilo record for past 8 years I have become a believer.

I am only posting photos. I won't be able to answer any technical questions.

I know it's 10 feet wide.

I know the egg shape has been most efficient at deflecting oncoming water and I have seen a forklift drive over these canopies.

Lee is currently way too busy to post. If I see any serious questions I will try to get an answer from him for you.

Enjoy

Stopped in a few times throughout the build. Lee is doing an outstanding job on this boat. Very trick piece.

I am pretty sure its going to be a S class 32' raceboat, powered by twin 2.5 liter outboards.

Yes it is being built for S or X Cat class. Power will be 2.5 Mercury Offshores X 2.

It will race this season. Where or when TBD.

I am not the design Guru. I do know this boat will contain more innovation per foot than most of what has been built in the past 10 years. Truth be told, much of what was built in the past few years borrowed heavily from our last boat.

Yes he is! Met him in Key West. He has probably forgot more than most know about cat design and what works. A true innovator of the sport.
