Go-Pro users???
For anyone using the suction cup mount, how do you eliminate the side to side movement while going thru somewhat choppy waters? Not sure if it is even possible to eliminate completely, but each video I shot this past weekend and a few before, had a lot of shakey footage! :lolhit:

I can't get rid of the shakiness either, but when I upload it to Youtube it says "We detect that your video is shaky. Want us to fix it?? I say yes and things come out OK. The camera was definitely shaking on the deck in this video:

GoPro Tester Wanted
This thread was forwarded to me as I am leading a new GoPro feature evaluation that may be related to the very issue in this thread. If you guys are interested in participating in the evaluation, please PM me your contact info.
Thanks in advance. By the way, my name is Ed Nelson and I am the President of Real World Beta. GoPro is one of my largest clients. My website is: www.realworldbeta.com - Ed |
The only side to side I get is my drunk friend falling on their ass, otherwise it`s never been an issue.:lolhit:

I shot some footage at the Smith Mountain Poker Run and mine kept fogging up after 4-5 minutes of running. What can I do about this problem? After each card stop it was clear but again after 4-5 minutes running it fogged up again. I had it mounted on the windshield facing out.

Go pro sells anti-fog inserts to keep the camera from doing that. Just go to there'd website under accessories. For me, the stabilization isn't isn't a big issue. I use the suction cup as well but over memorial day weekend, I zip tied it to my nav light up high and as a result go a great angle. You can check out my videos using the go pro on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Om2Jy...e_gdata_player

Thats not bad at all! If I could only find that program that youtube uses to eliminate the shakes, then I would be good lol. Even now when I place the suction on my desk, there is a lot of play in it

After the vid is done uploading, it asks if you want to eliminate the shakes(top right of the video). Maybe Youtube isn't thinking your vids are shaky...I dunno.

I used the suction cup mount last weekend and don't notice much shaking and it was rough, now the sun hitting the lens sucked.
It sure looks a lot smoother on video than it was |

Hello Everyone; After interviewing a couple of you for the GoPro Beta test, I have come to realize that the configuration of this particular testing may not be conducive to this forum. Specifically, one aspect of the test includes the Self Adhering Flat Mounts. While GoPro states that the mounts and associated adhesive can be removed with heat, many of you have indicated a desire to stick with the Suction Cup mounts versus the flat mounts. For those I has spoken with, I'll keep you in mind for upcoming testing.
It was nice getting to meet many of you. You have a very cool hobby. My first exposure to OffShore (GoFast) boats was from Miami Vice when I was a much younger person. I still think they are amazing. - Ed |
Just ordered two of the HD-GoPro2 units......! Excited! Like I really needed more electronic $hit in my life. LOL

Thanks for all the replies guys!!! I figured out what I was doing wrong. Granted I have only used the suction mount a coupe of times, but my dumbazz didnt pull the lever completely up :lolhit: and I didn't look at the video until after I got home!
What's everyone using for video editing? I have Movie Edit Pro but when I went to activate the MEG4 feature I was told it didn't support it so now I have to find something new. To bad I had phone with it, but I really want something I can edit with the MPEG4 format. Any free trials to download anywhere? |
I shoot lots of videos with GoPro but mine are all underwater...

New GoPro Testing
Hello Again;
As you may recall, I was seeking testers from this forum for a GoPro product evaluation last month. Those trials have completed and we are spinning up a new project. I have had a personal passion to include OffShore racing and am checking to see if any of you would interested in participating in the next round. Unfortunately, I am not allowed to go into much detail until I chat live and secure a Non Disclosure Agreement. I can however tell you that the previous concern over the "Flat Mount Adhesive" is not an issue with this next round of evaluations. Looking forward to hearing from you. I am looking for 1 tester from this forum at this time. I can be reached via: My Website is: http://www.realworldbeta.com One more thing, I learned from the last time I reached out to forums, that there is a higher expectation of responding to replies. I want to set the expectation that I respond to email faster and will strive to check back into the forum at least once per day. (Some thought I was some Watson Bot-thingy during my last query...) |
