Took my daughter with me to a poker run in Vancouver, and they stopped us, separated the two of us, and starting asking her questions wether i was her dad, and if her mother knew i was going. (she was only eight at the time). They went thru the vehicle, and boat, called my wife to verify the story as well, and that was leaving the US. If it only saves you 3 hours of driving, you may find you waste that much time in lines at the border.

Just tell them them the truth. You are passing through to Det/Windsor for a race and have all doc's handy just in case, photo ID and passport or enhanced licence (everyone in truck) and all boat/ trailer/truck info. I do it regularly and you will be ok.

I did have an azzhole buddy once that didn't tell me he was detained for weed in CAN and it took 3 hrs of pat downs and vehicle search just to be told to turn around and go home. Never made it to the strip club that night fuggin d!ck head friends... lol
