Dave,

I remember watching this happen from the pace boat. You were submerged for awhile ...

That's not how it looked Monday Night There was a sunset but it was hard to see of the gigantic waves hitting my bow....... Hence our stay at PIB Monday Night. I had never been to the Island on a weekday. What a ghost town.....

I'm one of the few guys that dares to take a 21' outboard up there. You can wipe your @#$% with the marine forecast. I tow up up SR 11 to GOL or Astabula and never find the 0-1' waves stated in the marine forecast. They may be out there somewhere in between the 1'-3's, but I never seem to find them.

I cut my teeth on that lake in a 16 foot Lyman Islander. In my early teens i use to run 25 miles from our cottage to Put-in-Bay . . . . . just to take a lap around the place and then back home. I thought it was a pretty good way to kill a day as a kid lol. Sometimes i would shoot out to West Sister by myself just to explorer around. GPS was not even a thought much less needed nor was instant weather radar. . . . . i have a tremendous respect for that lake.
