Thank You. Ive always wanted to be in the boat business, involved somehow. Ive been a mono guy my entire life till about 4 years ago when I started getting involved with the go-fast cats....love the speed, effeciency, and the ride in the rough stuff is tough to beat. With technology, and using different materials in key areas to make the boat lighter, but strong to take the years of abuse is what the goal was. The fuel economy is phenominal on this boat...presently at 4.66 mpg at 3500rpms/35mph with a pair of Merc 150's...:thankyouthankyou: This boat was orig. built for a gulf program ferring scientist around 1200 hours a year...she is built stout....Lake x is next for dialing this model in.

The key is building these Cat cc's that are not a cut down version of a tunnel, or pickle fork cat to obtain speed. These boats have taller sides to take a 3-5' waves on easily as the water passes through her tunnel due to her design..These boats are big..a 27 cat has about the same size of room as a 31 mono due to the rectangular platform...etc.... I believe there is a market for guys who want a boat that will do 75-90mph for the PR's in a 31-32x10.25" or my favorite 35x10-6-11' boat and still be able to do fishing tournements...and come home, hose her off and not spend 1/2 day cleaning her up...at least thats what I have enjoyed, and I believe the trend has gone this direction with outboards for fuel economy, ease of maint.,and being able to make the boat more of a multi-purpose boat for many reasons. It's a balance of effeciency, speed, size and ability take on rough water...Im looking for your guys imput on the next 2 builds.... Thanks very much guys, Jeff

I like the sound of 557's and 100mph. The square size and freeboard would hardley notice the weight of those V8's. can't wait to see the Carbon Top :ernaehrung004: :):) Good job Jass.........................

Way cool project , Weight is best left on the shore and "Engineered" out , Not things left out ! Very Cool and coming together Quick , You have to run great distance to get decent fishing , down here west coast ,The 100 fathom line is a 100+ miles out , one needs a 70 meritt or something like you are building to get there and fish , You have a great team up there !

Thank You...We are Designing the top in mind with somewhat of a hydrofoil to create slight lift vs just drag. The goal is to not loose much speed once in place. If weather permits boat will be run again now that we are able to trim the motors and we have water pressure gauge to monitor. Once we have a baseline, we will work with different props to see if we can be even more effecient. Just installed switches..ready to roll..This stuff is fun...Jeff

Jim, the rigger and his son ran the boat yesterday loaded down with an extra 1500 lbs. 1000 over the fuel tanks and 500 between the fwd and aft leaning posts. 600 lbs of people. Considering that we increased the previous running weight by 50 %, I felt that a 3 mph and 300 rpm drop was not too bad. The 22' 4 blades are too much prop. After all, they came off of Dan's 300 hp Verados and we have 150 hps. We ended up at 5200 rpm, which was 52 mph. Red line is published at 5800. Prop changes are next..Still at over 4mpg at 3500rpms or 35mph...

as you can see not much change..everything still is on target even with the additional weight. Ill post more figures and pics when I get back next weekend.

Thanks Steve. Just talked with Jim..he said Mercury is sending us a few props to try out. Jim has a Go Pro and if we have time we will set that up as well...The 3 blades will be faster..but if I can get better fuel economy and possibly better handling to sacrifice 2-3 mph we will end up with the 4 blades.
