I have a question about this, as I am around the water a lot and always watch out for people with me on my boat when anchored and swimming.
My question is, does this typically happen to people that can't swim? I am not a great swimmer and have felt panick of maybe not making it to shore, but obviously didn't go into this scary survial mode.
I am strictly asking this for future safety. I already request that all children wear jackets and that adults at least have one to float on/hold, that way if they get tired or too far from the boat they can just float and relax till I can get to them.
One other related danger is swimming too far from an anchored boat. IT IS HARD TO SEE YOU!!! Other powerboaters may not see you, so stay close to the anchored boat.
