OT: F-350 dually question?
This is my first dually and when I turn sharp in forward or reverse I sometimes get a "chatter" from the rear wheels. Is this just something that dual rear wheels does? Or might I have a problem?
Truck is a 2000 model crew cab V-10 4x2 with only 27k miles.
Thanks for any input!
Eric

its really hard to say without hearing it but i would guess its just your limited slip clutches racheting....which is normal!
you can check the tags on your axle and see if the numbers look something like 3L73 or probably 4L10. the L means it has limited slip diff and the other numbers are the gear ratio. theres a second tag that has alot of numbers in sequence....thats factory coding and is irrelevant.

Thanks. The gears in this truck are 4.30 and it does have limited slip. Also requires the use of 75w/140 synthetic gear oil. The gear oil has not been changed yet so I would assume the slip additive is in there from the factory.
Guess I better get some fluid and additive and change it.
Thanks again, Eric
