My friend brian who is also on OSO (screen name bn) has a 35 and the boat is great. Lots of room , great handling and fast for the power he has in it. If you e mail him I'm sure he would give you any information that you would need

If you like sonic, you would like the 35. The only thing I dont care for which some dont even use is the V-berth. It is small compared to the rest of the cabin. Great layout in the cabin. The cockpit is all sonic. You can walk around the whole boat on the top deck. which make it easy for tying up, docking, setting anchor.
Never rode on it but I am sure thats all sonic as well.

If your married and your wife wants amenities, do it.
If you want speed out of it, remember power to weight ratio is a little higher due to carrying around air conditioners, plasma tv's vcr's, dvd players, generators ect.
but definately a huge bang for the buck
with twin 500 EFI's it runs 80 ish
with twin 575's your going upper 80's

Good solid boat that likes the rough stuff
the 358 is my next boat, cause I HAVE A WIFE
but I think minimal im going to opt for is the 575 sc's
(unless in a year or two they offer something other than the 575)

Think about where you go boating, what you want it for.
If you sleep out for weekends, this is definately the ticket
if you use it for day trips you might not need all that cabin and amenities

Good luck in your decision
Jason

"with twin 500 EFI's it runs 80 ish

this is with the NOS right??? LOL...O,,,speed-o readings...ok then

Jayl13 07-02-2002 10:18 AM

okay lets get this corrected
with no generators,
stoves,
air conditioning, tv's and vcr's and 80 gallons of water for the shower and sinks ect, ect, ect.....
Yes you should be able to hit those speeds with not too much over loading on the boat.

Now if you do decide to have stoves and microwaves and all the rest of it going along with you
yes you will be slower

Hey Joe, Im going to smack you one of these days and then buy you a beer LOL:D (always correcting me --- YES DAD)
then again your never in one state for more than 2 hours and then your back on a plane again.

yeah yeah yeah!!!LOL

Co.'s are always making statements of WAY higher speeds than real world....i wish i had $5 for every time someone told me that their 500hp boat would run the uper 80's with a full cudy...**** i want that one...hell i could take a nap while milling...get a beer after the race out of the fridge....not have to piss on the floor.....and make something to eat in the mico on the way back....all that and set the world record kilo to boot!! it's only 89mph guys!

by the way...i love sonic's!!!! they are a kick ass ride!!! it's always a give a take...

audacity 07-02-2002 10:36 AM

J13...did ya put heat in those carbon makers yet!!!????

Jayl13 07-02-2002 10:59 AM

Hey Joe,
Yeah they are in, mostly hooked up
but had a major ***** of a time aligning the engines
That took a few hours but now the drives are on.
The stupid thing I did not think about (and it is so obvious im kickin myself for it) the damn fuel lines
I put polished performer manifolds on the new motors and the stocker pancake cast iron toilets that I tossed, the fuel lines wont reach.
So I had a waterboy moment.
Wah wah wah watur schpooon durrrrrrrrrrrr
So I need to find some braided line or something and then fire em up and set the timing, let em break in for about 20 minutes each on the trailer on the muffs and then change the oil and take it out on its first sea test.
I tried to get it done and dunk it in the drink on Sunday but not enough time in a day ya know.
I should be able to fire em up today after work.
(this damn work thing I swear)
Ill let you know when the twins are born!!!!
