I really don't see where this boat was driven into the rocks. All the damage shows the boat was not running. 35mph winds an the prop was chiped without spinning. All the damage was done on the sides an stern in a up an down motion. Get Her back in a boat an let this go. Glad everyones ok.

Boat is totaled.
Looks like a nice woman to me. If she is like my wife, just typical frustration because she really didnt want to drive the boat anyway, had the kiddo on board and now feels your toy is damaged and its her fault. Get her back on the water, reassure her it was not her fault. Try and spend some extra time slow boating with her a the wheel to rebuild confidence. Its your fault. Next time have an anchor on board that can hold the boat in any condition and she knows how to deploy it, simple. This is the exact reason I say, ideally go up TWO sizes of anchor from mfg "recomended" $20-50 more in anchor and this would have been a non-issue. The "recomended" size will barely hold on a nice day in the cove. Boats often fail in rough water conditions / Murphy's Law and you NEED an anchor that can HOLD. Sea Tow or even a helpful boater can not always get to you fast enough when wind is a factor. Tough break. Give her a kiss, take the money and go shopping. |

Insurance company will come out better giving you the book value and selling it for salvage and parts. |
I would call it a loss, alot of fiberglass dmg. It will never be the same again. Almost impossible for he new gelcoat tomatch perfectly. Hit a log with my old four winns & had to have the bottom of the v regelcoated by a four winns dealer, up close it was obvious it was repaired

Ask your son what happened, my almost 3 year old doesn't know how to tell a lie yet, & he loves tellingme when his mother screws something up
