Apache?????
Need some input on Apache. Considering a 36 or 41. Any information would be much appreciated. Lake Powell mostly, Ocean running probably not(too far). Ride characteristics, etc. is helpful. Thanks much.

We had a 1990 47' Apache for a couple years and I can honestly say there is nothing like an Apache... They thrive on big water and eat it up all day long! Smooth water is boring in them... They feel like they are dragging, but has soon as you hit the rough stuff it is like a whole new world.The boats are rock solid and have a lot of history to them as well, which makes it all the more interesting to own one...

There was a new 36 single step on the FPC Key West Poker run this year. Boat seemed to handle the rough stuff very well. When tied up next to a new 38 Top Gun the Apache is actually has more free board. A 36 will run in the low 80’s w 500 EFI’s. I was told it takes 750-800 HP to get a 41 to run 80

Those that have boated Lake Powell can attest that it can get fairly rough(in my opinion). In the main channel, with a fair amount of boat traffic it can get pretty mixed up. Storms can bring 6'-7' footers, but that is not real typical. Now, I will say I am sure (I have no experience with Ocean running, LOTO or the Great Lakes) it is not remotely as rough as where some other members have boated. I have a 30 Eliminator now, and while adequate in almost all conditions, on Powell anyway, it has been brought to my attention by my significant other, she would like a little smoother ride, and more cabin room. I don't want a cruiser, and this will be a viable alternative to one. Thanks for the replies. PS, yes, she does have a great deal of input!!!

Theres a 36' with I believe 650HP motors and fresh bravos for 110K and a 41' with zuls and #3's for 100K Both are in southern cali and are both VERY nice boats. If you want more info on them email me and I'll get you the owners cell numbers

I learned that besides the length difference in the 36 to 41, they are also built by different manufactures (thanks for the info Tonto). Anyone else have experience with both of these boats and what differences besides the obvious, length. Thanks for the replies.
