Need help picking new boat

hi guys new member here i curently own a 1991 four winns vista 285 with twin 5.0 engines the boat is great but im changing marinas and my new trip will require a 30 mile round trip which will be two expensive in this boat
the boat gets 1.2-1.4 mpg which is like 25-32 GPH

im looking into getting a 26-29ft 1995-2000 offshore but would like to know what they burn in different boats with different engines (single big block vs twin small blocks)

boats that interest me right now that i can afford are
baja 272, fountain fever 27, powerquest 26, scarab, formula etc.

i was thinking of getting these in a single 454-502 efi but small 350 efi twins arent out of the question

let me know what you guys with similiar boats are getting in MPG or GPH cruising and full out

thanks matt

I get just under 3MPG in a Donzi 28 ZXO with twin 6.2's. Another member here (FishinSucks) does just a bit better with a regular 28ZX.

I've wondered and now I gotta ask, what are you doing/using to calculate that?

Out of those I like the Formula the best.

Trick question? fill the boat... Run the boat x number of miles... Refill the boat and do the math.

I fill my boat at the beginning of the season (95 gal) and do so well that I only add30 our so during the season. Mpg calculation I have done on runs. I did over 2mpgon one run running the wrong props (2 inches too small).

Don't know about the other boats, but I had a 2000 Baja 272 with a MPI 502 and loved the boat, thats why I bought another Baja, good in rough water and will get up and go, never check the MPG, didnt care. Friend of mine has the same set up and he got 2.5MPG at 3000 revs running the Emerald coast last week.

Is that a gps function or are you counting mile markers?
