I went back and forth on that boat trying to make myself like it.
I almost made an offer on it right up to the point when I mailed my deposit on a 40' Skater. I'm glad I went with the Skater.
I was going to have the fins chopped off and the paint tied in. But I figured that would be $25k and the motors will probably need done in the not too distant future. (I've heard $15-$45k).
I think it would appeal to a lot more buyers without the fins. Kind of like putting money into your kitchen before you sell the house. Usually get your money back plus when you do that.
I needed to trade and he is willing to trade which is why it was an "almost".
