Best hulls
Ok here is a simple question. LOL!!! What are the top 3 hull / boat choices for running fast, boating with family and being able to use boat on all lakes as well as coastal waters. Looking at Fountain 35-42's. Would love more input.

38-39 T/S Cigarette Top Gun or 42 Fountain
|
42 Reggie

42 Fountain

Mine. But not for sale. OOOOPS miss My Cig. Artie

The more freeboard the better. The Fountains don't have as much as an equivalent Cig. The Fountains are lighter and probably faster w/ equal HP. My .02

You should buy a skater!
if that is out of the question I would look at donzi I think that they are a better built boat than fountian. Cigarette is a much better built boat than both fountian and donzi but they are slower with a better ride and resale! Whats the mission??? I would look at 35-42 Cigarettes personally! |

Smaller than your looking at........... But I loved the 31" Sonic I had! Can't beat there cabin room, specially with family in mind. Still could trailer it to large and small bodies of water. Loved the big water in Lake Michigan, these pictues were in 3' to 4' waves that day. Pictures never really reflect the wave size well though. Jon |

Take a look at the Laveycraft 39 EVO. Reliable power, Merc. 700's. Great ride in all water conditions and a top speed of 110mph still keeping all around acceleration.
It's for sale and going for a good price! Laveycraft (951) 273-9690 |

You need to list some more info like how much do you want to spend , how fast you want to go, do you need an enclosed head, a/c, gen, are you going to overnight on it, cabin head room wanted, how many people do you plan on having out. Lots of info to be had if you fill us in. Take the Sonic boats I had a 42 that was a great boat and I overnighted all the time but now I live on the water and if I had another Sonic I would want a 386 because the cockpit is bigger than the 42, And there are others like that to, 38 cig has a bigger cockpit than a 39 because it runs a stagger set up. So first give us a $ number and that will help.

You can get a very nice classic Top Gun flat bottom, might find a ts but its going to be beat. Not the best cabin for overnighting and enclosed heads are rare. But great ride a little slow with 500hp's low mid 70's.
A Fountain is probly going to be the most to chose from if 85 mph is ur goal for $85k Maybe a Active Thunder or 2 and a few 358 and 386 Sonics with nicer power 525 575 will get to 80 if setup and will have a nicer cabin for overnighting but there will be a bunch of 35 38 and 42 Fountains to pick from. |
386 sonic would be the only one in that price range i would even try to put 8 people on and 4 better be small.

I would jump all over this one:
http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o43845-en.html http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uwhzp5wH-Kw ...so fast it would make your head spin. I crawled all over this bad boy when it was down here and will tell you...it is the cleanest most impeccable boat you will find...short of a new one. Seriously...had I not seen this boat up close ...I wouldn't be as passionate. Plus you save nearly $20K. I swear to God...you could eat off the floor in this one and it shows very well. A real head turner. If you've never ridden an Apache in rough water...you don't have a clue how good they are. |
