Man loved that boat. Good luck with the new ride. Artie

A friend from Sarasota said...

...he saw Dean Winters walking around the venue looking for somewhere to create mayhem!

What better place to cause it than against another insurance icon!

Apparently he got confused when he caused mayhem for Cleveland Construction too. Must have been the nearly same green neon colour!

He also said the cavemen were trying to club Winters, but were getting distracted by the three Band-Aid bathing suit girls!

Not to get serious at such a happy time: Hats off to Mark and Scotty.

I have wonderd aloud about how that money could have been better spent to "help" Offshore. I have engaged in the discussions regarding "real" racers.

Just two thoughts.

#1 It could not have been spent any better.

Unless your idea of better is having even less people aware of powerboats racing in the ocean or subtracting the biggest fan base any of us (and the sport) could ever have.

#2 They are real racers. Most of us cannot really argue.

Unless you are one of the few "Real" men who would have jumped into one of their seats in Turbine class, or if you are one of the chosen few who will compete against them with piston power.

It's life altering. It was a death in the family. Replacable, sure, sure. For now still a death.

Condolences from all of us who actually get what this must feel like.

See you guys soon.

"...When we heard the fuel tanks starting to hiss, we knew it was time to get into the water." wow. i'd like to think i'd be on the deck fighting to save the boat that long too....:eekdrop:

That quote got my attention, too. If I heard the fuel tanks hiss, the next sound heard would a loud splash—me hitting the water, head first.

When I read that I thought of this:
"Fuel lines were drained and filled with CO2 at 20 pounds pressure. The gasoline tank compartments had been previously filled with CO2 and all compartments were closed down and secured."

No because Geico doesn't insure high performance boats. Anything over ~499 hp/side & over 70 mph.:poopoo:

How ironic is it not to insure a boat that has YOUR NAME ON IT.
