lower unit skeg question

I posted this in the drive section but got no response so Im going to try here. fixing to head to the lake house tomorrow and dont have a computer there.

I have a a nose coned stock XR lower unit on a 31 awesome cat with twins. I've been having a problem with the props blowing out with 5 people and 1/2 tank of fuel. I just bought some wide cavitation plates that Im going to be putting on. I sanded the paint that was coming off the skeg and reprinted them and this weekend I got a little nick in the skeg about a 1/4 of the size of a pea. My question is on the leading edge should I sharpen it like a knife blade or round it or what? And on the trailing edge of the skeg should I sharpen, round, or leave it squared

Thanks, James

I would slightly round the front and sharpen the tail. Make it look like a trout. Nature provides us with the most economical hydrodynamic shapes.

My lowers r sharpened on the front and I tapered them a little on the back side to feed the prop better. Hope this helps
