Ocean Performance A++++

I had my boat down at OP all last week having some fiberglass repaired from the previous owner and had them buff and wax her. When I arrived to pick her up last Friday the gel was restored to its original luster and the chips of missing 'glass were gone! Great work guys. Big ThANK YOU to Bill, Ryan and Mike in Service Department. I even had an opportunity to meet Chris. Great people at OP... I will be back in a few weeks to have a few more things addressed while I vacation down in FL with the family.

Great group of people over there can't go wrong, excellent service and top quality work

mysweetone 07-16-2012 01:44 PM

No question there!!! I live in central CT and there are multiple little boat places in my areataht just don't "look" like they would produce favorable results. While this is not alway true I knew OP would be top notch work and craftsmanship. This I could tell just by driving by and seeing the iron parked out front and by reading things on this forum.

Okay, okay I have been reading a lot of these posts lately about Ocean and Chris and Billy. Blah, blah, blah these guys are gonna get big heads! All kidding aside they have completely rerigged 2 boats for me and I had a boat repainted there 3 years ago. Great people who will work with you and are a wealth of knowledge. But you guys can't rave about them with out mentioning Carol as well! Keep up the good work!

stainless 07-18-2012 07:48 PM

Chris , Carol and the whole team at ocean performance rock!

Unlimited jd 07-19-2012 08:47 PM

What a great combination Scot!...... I think we need to start a Carol thread soon! Nothing better than walking into a mans "toy store" and meeting a cool chick that knows and loves boat as much as the men! Keep up the good work Carol!

mysweetone 07-20-2012 08:36 AM

Carol!!!! THAT was her name. She took my MONEY!!!! hahaha... very cool lady... and yeah... she's got boobs!

Unlimited jd 07-20-2012 09:27 AM

Where else can you store your boat, buy your parts, and when you show up to to shake the boat down and forgot your beer they hand you a 6 pack???? Now that's priceless service lol

oceanperf 07-20-2012 02:32 PM

WOW, Thanks... (i think) LOL :thankyouthankyou:
hope to see you all tomorrow at the run...

mysweetone 08-23-2012 09:05 AM

picked up the boat yesterday after being at OP for another stint. This time had the old stripes stripped off and new ones applied. For a 23 year old boat she sure looks purdy... Thanks OP!

With spring in the air in Connecticut, I thought id revive this thread. There is ALOT of big name HP boat shops being called out for wrong doing lately. Lots of people getting screwed by shops for big dollar items, and poor quality work. So I thought it would be a good time to shed some light on the "good" in our industry. I was at OCEAN PERFORMANCE yesterday and it was great to see them really busy so early in the season. Boats were lined up in the shop for complete re-rigs, blower motors everywhere, and the OP crew hard at work. Really nice to see, and just goes to show, when you do your customers right, a high performance boat shop CAN survive even in these hard times. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK CHRIS AND CREW!

SS930 04-01-2015 09:20 AM

^ Kiss-ass, you must want something!!! :D

Seriously though, the HP offshore business is a TOUGH business to survive in, even more so in the northeast since we have such a limited boating season. Things have been especially tough over the last decade with the dramatic pull back in the economy from 2007 to 2012 or so. There's no doubt times have been tough for these guys, but it's great to see folks like Chris (and Billy) at OP and even Michael at Offshore Northeast have weathered the storm and are here to support the local offshore crew. I can't imagine not having these guys in our back yard, I truly believe the CT offshore scene would fall apart without them (unless Jamie wanted to move down to CT, lol). Thanks guys for everything!

Actually, why do we keep mentioning Chris??? We all know Carol runs the show over there, not to mention she's a lot easier to look at, plus she's the one that supplies the beer! Thanks for everything CAROL! :D

oceanperf 04-01-2015 09:47 AM

Thanks guys. I appreciate the good words and yes Scot it is always about Carol. Seriously though let's use this thread as a positive platform of who's been in the industry and can be trusted. I don't post a lot but I think everyone needs to see that across the entire country there are good people running good performance shops. So much negativity is going to scare away especially newcomers to sport we all love. I consider it an honor to serve the high performance boating community for 33 years. I hope that many will chime in with positive experiences they have had with their local performance boat shops. Thanks, Chris.

Besides you guys Chris, I have also used Jamie(Unlimited jd) to work on my crap-cans many times when I was too lazy to do it myself. If OP is to far of a ride for anyone north of CT, " Unlimited jd" here on the boards is a great mechanic and most of all......trustworthy. I have and would recommend him to anyone. I know you guys are looking for another mechanic Chris....too bad Jamie lives so far away.

kreed 04-01-2015 11:07 AM

Anyone else with highly recommended shops on the east coast would help this thread, lets hear who YOU recommend.... it would also put any new boaters at ease about who to go to for good service in a tough sport to begin with.

Biggus 04-01-2015 12:12 PM

Great thread and really like the positive direction it has turned. In southern Maine, we are very fortunate to have Tim Dorr of Dorr's Marine in Windham Maine. Tim has been in the hi performance marine game for 25+ yrs. Has an extensive offshore race history with the Airborne team, Sloppy Joes and the Defender boats. Tim builds an incredible motor. You never hear of his motors blowing up, nothing but top quality parts used through out, no corners cut. Very thorough and honest business man who I highly recommend.

Kurt

So glad I ran into this thread, everything said on here is so true.. They are the best, Chris took his time to find me parts I needed to do the makeover of my Cig. Never have visited OP but plan to. I knew Carol ran the show and to find out she is eye candy, well lets just say that does it I'm coming up Chris. All joking aside I can't thank you enough Chris for taking your time to help. Please come down to Pirates on Lanier this year, you won't be disappointed, Oh yea don't forget Carol. LOL

Kreed...yes I sold it....was not easy to let it go but I had too..do to some unforeseeable changes in my life....had some great memories with that boat....one of my best was watching my daughter of 12 years old at the time run that boat in 3-4 ft swells in the ocean by herself at the wheel doing 55 mph and looking over and ... seeing her smile ear to ear...I have down sized for now...boat is in Georgia now....someday I will get another cig

Dave M 04-07-2015 12:03 PM

I bought my boat there. Not directly from OP but from the previous owner. It looked like a pretty impressive place from what I saw.

SS930 04-11-2015 05:10 AM

A bump for OP and other shops still worth your business...
