I will say that I have never heard of anybody getting noise ticket that was not VERY LOUD and at least 100db or so.

Guy that bought my TSTG with stock 500s got a ticket last year. Don't remember for sure but I was thinking 96 was the number. Must have been a slow day for the WP or he must have had a bunch of girls on the boat.

Your missing it. It's not the cops most of the time, It's the people who have houses on the lake that complain to the city and then call the police. Some loud boat went flying by on the water and woke up my kid from a nap at 2pm in the after noon and I just don't like it. They just built a million dollar house, have connections and it starts.

100% bottom line...and they have numbers, clout, pay taxes, and probably contribute to local politicians.

Finally, wisdom has been spoken by Indy and F3504x4xps!

While the wording might vary a bit from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, the basic regulation is uniform throughout.

And like it or not, it is the law!

Are you saying the drives broke because you couldn't throttle based on the tone of the engines when you left the water?

I was wondering the same thing, the noise of the engine doesn't have anything to do with drive problems at least that's my experience. You might see reduced performance, but back when I had XR's I paid more attention to the tach's, trim & tab settings and water conditions to help them survive.

Now that I have Arneson's it's a non-issue but I still don't abuse them even with a quieted down boat... Don't get me wrong I love the sound of a loud boat and wish I could still run that way but it's not a trend that I see changing anytime soon... Once these types of laws are enacted and the authorities figure out it can be an income source it will never go away...

Come on down to Lake Texoma. We like loud fast boats. No speed limits or noise laws.

No noise laws in Arkansas either!
