it is real stuff 180 4 400 to 500 miles, yes on smoth tracks not like offshore stuff but real serious racing,i like it and i know there has been some bashing about it,but i like it ,and there is mega bucks in it,just imagine ,last place,40,000 bucks for some of the races, yes im watching it,just came off my new boat, wich i will post pics of with my new pit crew that you guys will LIKE tripps:D :D :D :D

I still like drag racing better. Nothing is better than an interview with John Force right after he takes the win.

Offshore racers need to go to the John Force school of live intereviews. None of the racers know how to give an interesting interview.

Go Mikey!;)

Makino 07-07-2002 12:58 AM

I'm with Ron P. I respect NASCAR for being a very tough sport to compete in. It is definately a team effort. And is a contributor to my wages. But I just can't give up my Drag Racing (also a team sport). It has soo many classes, and something for everyone.

Everyone should enjoy their hobbies, if they do that is ALL that matters..........

Race on......

Gordens car going into tech. Was told that he will be running the #12 car next year..............Brooke is getting 1/2 of everything:eek: :D

Also was told Jimmy Johnson was given the #48 number car because he was going to get twice as much of the go fast parts as the $24 car:)

I had the opportunity ,last month , to do 20 miles at Pocono International behind the wheel at 170-180 mph:eek: .....what a thrill. My wife gave it to me for our aniversary. I have a new respect for those guys , especially doing that for 400 or 500 miles. Also did three laps with instructor pryor to my turn and watched the tach sitting on 8300 rpm on the front straight away. That's a little to much for my big blocks:rolleyes:

This is where they check the roof height and then they check the frontspoiler. Notice the high tech tool they use to slide under the front air dam to make sure it does not hit.

We climbed up to see the speakers on the Serius Radio Formula at the Michigan race a few weeks back. couldn't tell were the ultra clear crankin "country BTW" music was coming from. climbed the ladder to peek at the power and hole samollies. there was that speaker set up.

cool:cool:

You'd have never seen Dale Sr. in a crappy cologne ad.

Check out Junior in the new Guy Laroche ads for "eau de toilette".

gmhdfan 07-10-2002 01:35 AM

And you will probable never see JR. wearing Wranglers, doing a cheap jean ad. Sad to say but I don't think Dale Sr. had to much to do with Jr's. upbringing:confused: It's all about BIG money now! Like Ricky Rudd said: NASCAR sold their soul to the devil!

If I am not mistaken, WRANGLER was the full-on major sponsor of the race team for SR. Kind of like Burt Reynolds (Stroker Ace) wearing the Clyde Torkel Chicken Suit in the movie. You do whatever the major sponsor requires.

I just don't remember seeing a "Drakkar Noir" hood on the Budweiser Chevy that JR is driving.

Big money is exactly what makes the Cup series exist. Beer, beer, beer, paint, cola, and film are the big players. Oooh, don't forget UPS (race the truck!).

I was just more than a little startled to see junior's face in a 3-page cardboard Drakkar Noir foldout in Men's Health magazine.

Moonshiners ain't s'posed to use foo-foo spray.
