Need a Recommendation
Looking to get a new boat and having trouble deciding. I need something that has an open front to fit the family. I'd like it to be somewhere between 25 and 29 feet and under 40k.
I've been able to find tons of bowriders around, but I'd like to get something that actually feels like driving a real boat. |
do you really mean a new boat?
|
No, I meant that it would be new to me. I'm looking for a used boat.

Check out powerboatlistings.com
look for nordic 28, there are some open bow boats there in your $ range. Also, you can look for sunsations too. |
Check out Regal 8.3/2800/2900's
Basically same boat, 8.3 is flat bottom, 2800 step hull and 2900 step hull with extended swim platform. Step bottoms run 60's with big block/duo prop setups and handle LOTO good. Seem a handful in your price range down there this year. |
Thanks for the thoughts. I especially like the first two, although they seem a little tougher to find low enough in price, but it only takes one.
I like the Regal, but I'd really like to stay with having the two-lever as opposed to one. |
What kind of water will you be boating in? Ocean, bay, big lake, small lake, river. Based on that, 24 degree deadrise for bigger water, 23/22 for smaller water. That is a BIG difference on whether you get the snot pounded out of you or not.
Are you looking at speed, strictly family, an all around boat? There are so many ways to go if you could give us more info of what you are going to do with the boat. You could be looking at anywhere from a Cobalt to a party cat. |
Formula 280, Chaparral makes a real nice 28/29 fter not sure the model, sea ray also had a 28 SS style boat back in the day
